How to choose
The four designs we sell, 2-3/8 vs 1-5/8, square feet per head, freestanding feet, and clamps.
Designs we sell vs designs we don't. We sell four cattle corral designs: a 20x20 hold, two 20x20 side by side, a 20 ft panel, and a 20 ft gate combo. That is the catalog.
We do not sell chutes. We do not sell crowding tubs, alleys, or a complete handling system. The live guide already says this page is the panels and holding spaces we sell, not that equipment. If your plan starts at a squeeze chute, this line will not finish it.
2-3/8 vs 1-5/8. The uprights here are 2-3/8 inch pipe against the 1-5/8 the horse panels use. That is not upselling. Cattle do not stop the way a horse does. A horse that hits a fence is usually trying to avoid it. A cow that hits a fence is frequently going through it on purpose. The failure mode is different, so the steel is different.
2-3/8 is written in the 20 ft cattle panel name. It is written in the shared cattle catalog, guide, and FAQ copy on all four pages. It is not a spec-field line on the 20x20 pens or the gate combo. We do not invent a spec row that those SKUs do not print.
Square feet per head. The working figures from the live shop: roughly 20 square feet per head in a crowding pen where cattle are packed to move, and 40 to 50 square feet per head in a holding pen where they will stand for a while.
A 20x20 is 400 square feet. That is around 8 to 10 head holding, or up to about 20 crowded for working. Undersizing a holding pen is the more expensive mistake.
Two 20x20 side by side is how you get a hold and a crowd from this line.
Freestanding feet. Freestanding means the panels carry their own feet instead of clipping to posts you set. Nothing to dig or concrete. The whole pen can be moved to wherever you are working.
The 20 ft cattle panel name also says detachable feet. That is the published hardware for a pen that has to move. You take the pen to the cattle instead of moving cattle to the pen.
Do not mix horse clamps. Horse clamps are sized for 1-5/8. These posts are 2-3/8. Horse-line clamps will not fit. If you are joining the two lines in one run, use the correct clamp for each post size. Do not force a horse clamp onto a cattle post.
