An 80×120 is 80 ft by 120 ft on the ground, not 80 ft of fence. Stake the four corners. Walk the drive-gate swing. Leave room to mow and to get a drag or a truck in and out. Then order the kit that matches that stake, not the kit you wish the yard could hold.

Shop FAQ: choose 120×200 if the ground allows. Start there when the pad is real. Drop to 80×120 when it is not. Step up to 140×240 when the live FAQ job is reining, roping, or more than one horse at a time.

Do not count panels around the edge. We do not publish a panel count, a panel length, or a height on these SKUs. Do not borrow 10-ft or 12-ft panel math from a circle and apply it to this rectangle. Circle math lives on the round pen guide (/guides/horse-round-pens). That is a different crate.

Ground first, steel second. The fence is the cheap part. Grading, base, and footing decide whether the pad holds water. A smaller arena on properly graded ground is more useful than a large perimeter that holds water. That is published shop copy, not a lab number.

Get the pad flat and draining before the steel arrives. A perimeter set on ground you plan to fix later has to come out again.

Footing is not a line item in the crate. We do not publish a depth, a sand type, or a drainage spec. Confirm the pad with a trainer or a local contractor who has seen the site. We do not rank footing products here.

Four rail or five rail. The live kits sell both. Same 14-gauge steel. Different openings. Arena pages say match the openings to the animals and the way the enclosure will be used. They do not print a young-horse or public-fence rule on this catalog. We do not import one from the round-pen aisle.

Pick 4-rail or 5-rail before the crate ships.

Gates are in the package. Drive and walk gates ship with the kit. Matching hinge geometry. You are not sourcing them separately and hoping the pattern matches.

Additional openings come from the gates category and use the same fittings. Width, height, and how many of each gate sit in the standard package are not written on the arena SKUs. Confirm extra openings with the order.

Corners are radiused. The corners are radiused and welded, not mitred at ninety degrees. Published shop copy: a mitred corner is two cuts at the point of highest stress, and it opens up after a season of a horse cutting the corner tight. A radius also rides better. A horse working the fence line through a curve keeps its shape.

Custom is a quote, not a SKU. Anything outside 80×120, 120×200, and 140×240 is quoted to your ground. There is no custom price on the catalog.

Circles are a different job. If you wanted a 40, 50, or 60 ft circle, that is a round pen kit (/catalog/round-pens). Do not treat this page as circle math.
